The store was established in 1990 in Oslo, Norway, by Akbar Rabiee Hanjani and has since grown to contain an extensive collection of unique carpets of all sizes. Each rug is hand-picked and collected one by one. That way Akbar has been able to take care of each one separately, by mending holes and tears, or performing other restorations if needed. These carpets are all works of art made by hand over long periods of time. Many are made by nomadic people from different countries and regions, and weaving one single carpet can take more than a year of labour.
The carpets are made to be loved, used, and respected.
